Intensive Treatment Services

Our Intensive Treatment Service is a specialized service for individuals with developmental or intellectual disabilities who are involved with, or at risk of involvement with, the criminal justice system. This program bridges the gap between behavioral health, justice, and disability services — emphasizing rehabilitation, safety, and human dignity.

At Shared Horizons, we believe that every individual deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and reintegrate into the community with proper guidance and support. We work collaboratively with families, legal professionals, and treatment teams to design individualized support plans that address both immediate needs and long-term goals.

Our Intensive Treatment Service includes:

  • Comprehensive Assessment: Evaluating behavioral, emotional, and environmental factors to develop effective, evidence-based support strategies.

  • Behavioral Stabilization and Skill Building: Teaching coping, communication, and decision-making skills that reduce risk and promote safety.

  • Collaborative Care Coordination: Working closely with probation officers, legal counsel, medical providers, and mental health professionals.

  • Community Reintegration: Supporting individuals as they transition from structured environments to independent or supported living.

  • Ongoing Oversight and Advocacy: Ensuring accountability, progress, and access to services that foster long-term stability.

Through this program, we aim to reduce recidivism, strengthen accountability, and promote recovery and inclusion — empowering individuals to build safer, more independent lives within their communities.
